The White Rock Museum & Archives Society has appointed
Karin Bjerke-Lisle (right) as Executive Director to replace Sharon Oldaker (left)

Dear Museum Friends, Members, and Colleagues:

It has been two weeks since I stepped into the role of Executive Director and I would like to thank everyone for your kind and generous support. You have made me feel very welcome in the face of mixed emotions with Sharon's departure.

For those of you who don't know me; a little about myself. I grew up an "Air Force Brat" and was privileged to travel extensively through the years. I graduated high school in West Germany before returning to Canada to attend The University of Ottawa where I met my future husband. While my work experience has primarily been in the luxury resort industry for the last fifteen years, I have been a passionate advocate for the museum for more than ten years sitting on the Board of Directors.

Today I live with my four children, three dogs, two cats, a hedgehog, and assorted fish in an eclectic farmhouse on the Nicomekl River. I am very excited to be given this opportunity to work in a place I already love. Sharon has left behind a marvellous legacy, with a stellar team, both talented and enthusiastic. It will be both a privilege and a pleasure to work with all of you as we continue to grow our wonderful Museum's place in the community. I look forward to meeting each of you when you come down to the museum to renew or purchase your membership!

Sincerely, Karin
